An international reality format is getting a German edition: RTL+ has announced “House of Villains” for 2027, hosted by Sophia Thomalla. The cast and an exact launch date have not yet been published.

Strategy rather than a harmonious house-share

The concept brings together reality personalities known for conflict, provocation or especially tactical play in previous shows. Living together, they have to complete challenges, form alliances and eliminate rivals from the competition.

The word “villain” describes a public reality role, rather than making a statement about someone’s character away from the show. RTL+ says the eventual winner will be crowned the “Ultimate Super Villain”. The announced potential prize is up to €100,000.

Sophia Thomalla hosts the German edition

Sophia Thomalla will guide the games and decisions in a show whose structure explicitly focuses on power, loyalty and shifting alliances. The announcement does not yet specify which detailed rules the German version will adopt.

The cast remains secret for now

RTL+ has not confirmed any participants. RSHOF is therefore not presenting wish lists or unconfirmed names as the cast. The production period, episode count and exact release date will be added once official information is available.

The announcement adds a show that deliberately turns familiar reality roles into the basis of its game. Viewers will recognise tactical elements from other competition series, but the German version can only be assessed once the episodes are available. The RSHOF show overview lists other new and returning programmes.
